Day 7: By the Hand of Nephi

My wife has grown tired of meeting your accumulating daily demands, so her marvelous and proper husband will be drafting today's article. Errr, blog. Thing. Please realize that you have been informed of the risk of any continued reading. In fact, it may be best to hit any number of buttons and links lining the top of your browser which will take you out of this mind raping rhetorical. Like I would know what that means.

Alright, so you decided to stay and hear the bitter contrast of your typical writer, so be it.

The day starts early, a modest 7:30 we arris- no, oh yes it is an adequate 7:35 in the morning in which we, no, oh right, yes in fact we decided actually, well you see we our known for hitting the snooze button enough times to call it a few...many. In all honesty I can't remember when we awoke but it was some time before 8:00 am. In Hawaii it is only right to assume a sloth like demeanor while somberly walking around in morning requirements. You see at one point sloths lived in Hawaii, and so in taking on the physical attributes of a sloth we are able to take on a eco equalizing approach to our stay abroad. The housekeeping will frequently say 'Mahalo' for our efforts.

Well 9 something in the morning approaches and we decide to make our way into the outer abyss of bright sunshine and cool ocean winds to spend some time near the hotel pool. I decide to further educate myself by reading a book that collects and translates the worked of a famed Japanese director. My wife decided to soak in the environment with a laptop. Okay, not quiet as escapist and refined, but I'm sure there is something reflecting and meditative to be found on facebook. Maybe not. Time passes and admittedly I snatch the electronic device from my wife's lap. My precious, my precious! I check some sites and we are off, to embark on real island activities.

We grab some quick energy at a local Taco Bell. To save time we use the 'walk-through'. Actually, that is your only choice, a outdoor ordering window, but I like to pretend there is a bit of democracy in the process.

We then go off to the beach. Since it is an island there are, or rather SHOULD be a lot of beaches. Not really. Most of it are rocky beach fronts, or blocked and barricated by expensive hotels. After a good while of searching we find a cool summer escape. There are no waves, and the water is freezing, but it is beautiful nonetheless. We swim around and eventually Breezy is able to get the sun bathing she has been asking for, for the past month. Oh dear. We only sun bath for about an hour at most but it was too much. Throughout the remainder of the day Breezy slowly transforms in color, like one of those cheap cereal spoons that change colors. Of course instead of changing from one cool color to another, Breezy turns from white white to lobster red. Ouchy.

Eventually we retreat to an awesome local burger joint called Cool Cats. We shared a amazing hotdog, french fries, and onion rings. I ordered a Luna burger which had many ingredients of awesomeness. I loved it. Breezy ordered chicken fingers. Again. This is exactly why chicken's no longer have fingers, because Breezy eats all of them.

We go home and watch TV, drenched by the sun and caked in sand we fall asleep...for 12 hours.

Well my wife is asking if I'm writing a novel, and the computer is telling me the battery is going to die. So I will leave now.

To be continued...

Song: Enjoy a random Hawaiian song we found that is performed by some guy named Nephi Brown.
